Doug graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1980. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in 1977. He served as a law clerk to the judges of the Third Judicial District of Iowa in 1980-1981.
He is admitted to and actively handles lawsuits and trials in federal and state courts in Iowa.

Doug was born in Webster City, Iowa. When not working, he enjoys spending time with family, watching college football and basketball, and playing golf.
