Tim Clausen
Tim has been litigating cases in Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska for over 34 years. He has tried cases in the Federal, State and administrative courts in all three states. His varied practice areas consist of civil litigation, employment law, business and probate litigation and workers’ compensation.
Tim was born and raised here in Sioux City, Iowa. He received his undergraduate degree in political science as well as his law degree from the University of South Dakota. While in Law School, Tim joined the Klass Law Firm as a Summer intern in 1988. Over 34 years later, he is a co-managing partner of the Firm that celebrated a century of serving clients in 2017.
Tim is extremely proud of the practice the Firm has built over the years. There are a lot of attorneys who claim to be trial lawyers who rarely, if ever, actually see the inside of the courtroom. At the Klass Law Firm, Tim and his partners are experienced trial lawyers whose proficiency has been yielding impressive results and jury verdicts for a number of years.
Tim is a member of the Iowa State, South Dakota State and Nebraska State Bar Associations. He is a member of the Iowa Defense Counsel and has served multiple terms on the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Section Council. He is a former President of the Iowa Association of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, Inc. (IAWC).
Tim and his wife of 36 years, Paula, have two adult children. His son, Zachary, is a partner in the Firm, and his daughter, Madison, teaches grade school in the Sioux City Community School District. He is the proud grandparent of three grandchildren. Tim and his family enjoy traveling and staying active in the community.
