Klass Law Firm is pleased to announce that Michele Lewon has joined the firm as a partner, effective January 1, 2026.
Michele brings a distinguished record of legal experience to Klass Law Firm. She has practiced in the Siouxland area for over two decades, focusing her career on family law, including divorce and dissolution, custody and parenting time, child support and spousal support, high-asset property division, premarital agreements, and complex divorce litigation. Michele also serves as a family law mediator and is registered to mediate cases in both Iowa and South Dakota. With bar admissions in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, Michele is well-positioned to serve clients throughout the tri-state area with depth of knowledge and personalized advocacy.
A native of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Michele earned both her B.S. in Criminal Justice (1998) and her J.D. (2002) from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. During law school, she distinguished herself through leadership roles, including serving as Executive President of the Student Bar Association and earning membership in the Order of the Barristers.
Over the course of her career, Michele has concentrated her practice in family law after gaining early experience in litigation and general practice. She has developed a strong reputation for guiding clients through sensitive and complex family law matters. In addition to her legal practice, Michele is active in the legal community, previously serving as Treasurer of the Woodbury County Bar Association and holding memberships in the state bar associations of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota as well as the American Bar Association.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Michele is an avid athlete and community volunteer. She has competed in multiple marathons and triathlons, including the Wisconsin Ironman, and enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking. Michele also contributes her time to organizations including Girls Inc. of Sioux City, Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue, where she has fostered over 65 dogs, and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
